Makeup Ideas

Okay, so it's been awhile since I posted.  I really will try to post more.  Just wanted to share a few things.

1st, e.l.f. eye transformer,  the product I used, and metioned in my last post.

This palette comes with four wish looks like very light, green, yellow, blue, and pink shades. However, just put some on bare skin, and it really pops....put it over a darker shade of eyeshadow, or on darker skin tones, and WOW, really pretty.  I want to experiment with this, and take more pictures on different people, in different lights, and different styles.
Anyone else ever used this?  What do you think?

Makeup Portfolio

For this look I went with a light, and a touch of medium foundation.

I must say, I am impressed with how well my eyes turned out.  I just used to law of color to do so.  Green eyes= Red....(well, in the red family).  So I used a white highlight color on my inner corners, and brow bone.  The a Dusty Rose for the contour.  Then, a dark Lilac on the corners.  Lined in Black liner, then went over the liner with e.l.f. eye tranformer in pink, and blue. ( More on that later.  :)

Since I didn't have a lip color that went exactly, I went and cheated a bit.  I used a clear lip base, then used the dusty rose eye shadow, and some of that wonderful pink transformer stuff I was talking about earlier. topped it off with a dab of light pink shimmery lip gloss.
After being sick with a horrible head cold, or what ever it is.  I know I couldn't go to school, and be breathing on people getting facials, and being waxed.  So being stuck at home, and finally getting batteries for my digital camera.  I got to start playing with my makeup.  I first wanted to do a smokey eye, but them felt like, I am standing here with a cold...Do I really want that heavy look on my face today?  Instead. I wanted to look more awake, and refreshed...even though I wasn't feeling any of these. Ah, the magic of makeup.  To foul one's eye.  Haha.  Any way.  Here's the beginning of an ever expanding portfolio.

Holistic Therapy | Alternative Medicine Therapy

Holistic Therapy | Alternative Medicine Therapy

For those of you who would like further reading, or research on Holistic Therapy this is a good place to start.

Holistic Approches at Home

In a world where you can't watch television without seeing an ad for some hotline to call about some "Bad Drug".  Meaning these Lawyers will help you, for a big cut of the lawsuit.  However, this lets us realize, that Doctors work with Pharmaceuticals to cram these pills down your throat.  Time, and time again we see the side effects out weigh the original "benefit" of the prescribed drug.
So my question is how many people are starting to use a more " Holistic" approach to many problems that can be taken care of at home.  I am not talking about stitching a severed digit back on, I mean things like heartburn,  headaches,  blisters, nail fungus, dandruff, dry skin......that sort of thing.  Also, are more people turning to more Holistic Practitioners?  I would like to hear what people have to say.

Beauty Aides from the Kitchen Aide

The Winter is naturally drying out my skin, it happens.  So I would like to share with you a few things that can help, right from the kitchen.
  1st:  Baking Soda
Use a bit with your facial cleanser, to use as a gentle scrub. (Can also be used with body wash for all over body scrub)
Add a dab to your toothpaste for extra whitening.
Hair Coloring went a little too dark for you?
 Add some to your shampoo.
  2nd: Peroxide
Yes, you can cleanse pores with peroxide. Just rinse with cool water.
Also good for teeth whitening. As well as a gargle.
Pour some  on a splinter to help work it out.
   3rd: Eggs
Yes, we have all heard about the washing your hair with eggs...although I have never tried this one. I was always afraid of having scrambled egg in my hair. However, I found you can beat an egg in a small bowl, apply to face, and while still wet, apply single ply tissue over, allow to dry till it hardens.  Peel off, like those pore strips. Really works.
Eggs can be used as a general facial mask, alone, or with honey.  More "Facial" recipes to come.

Creative Outlet

Okay, it's only taken me, like four hours to be satisfied with the banner I put on the blog, as it's new header.  Mmmm, yeah, I want to add to it already. However, I will continue to practice drawing, and writing on my bamboo tablet.  I had to create, but all my paints are still cold from being in my car.  So I had to use another medium.  Sometimes you get a surprise on what you did later.  Love when things happen like that.
I wanted sooo much to paint today after seeing some (mass produced, of course) in the store the other day.  I thought, " That sells? I can make a one of a kind, for a lot less money...hell, I could sell some too".  Well, maybe I won't be some famous painter, but why not try it? Right?
So question today is....what inspires you today?
Like I said, I wanted to paint after seeing some in the store, and ended up doing my blog banner.  So, it may not always become what you wanted when you started...but it's all good.
